Gym Gear Pilot Privacy Policy

How we may collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information—and the privacy choices available to you.

Last updated: September 5, 2026

This Gym Gear Pilot privacy policy explains how Gym Gear Pilot (“Gym Gear Pilot,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you visit gymgearpilot.com and any pages that link to this policy (collectively, the “Site”).

It describes the personal information we may collect, why we use it, when it may be disclosed, how cookies and affiliate tracking may work, and the privacy choices that may be available to you.

Gym Gear Pilot publishes independent gym equipment reviews, comparisons, buying guides, and practical fitness information. The Site may contain affiliate links, including links to Amazon. If you follow an affiliate link, the destination website may use its own cookies or similar technologies under its own privacy policy.

Plain-language summary

We aim to collect only the information reasonably needed to operate, secure, understand, and improve the Site. We do not ask visitors to create a purchase account, and we do not process payments for products featured in our content. Product purchases are completed on third-party retailer websites.

1. Scope of This Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to information handled through the Site. It does not govern a retailer, manufacturer, social platform, advertising network, analytics provider, email service, or other third party that operates under its own terms and privacy notice. When you leave Gym Gear Pilot, review the privacy practices of the destination website before providing information.

2. Information We May Collect

The information collected depends on how you use the Site and which features are enabled.

Information you provide

You may choose to provide information when you send a contact message or email; subscribe to updates if offered; submit a comment, survey response, correction, suggestion, or feedback; or make a privacy request.

This may include your name, email address, subject, message, and other information you choose to submit. Please do not send sensitive personal information, payment information, medical records, or account passwords through the Site.

Information collected automatically

We and service providers may automatically receive IP address and approximate location; browser, operating system, device, language, and device identifiers; pages viewed, referral and exit pages, links selected, dates, times, and session activity; cookie and online identifiers; and diagnostic, performance, fraud-prevention, and security information.

Some of this data may be considered personal information under applicable privacy laws, even when it does not directly identify you by name.

Information from third parties

We may receive aggregated or limited information from service providers and affiliate programs, such as traffic sources, campaign identifiers, link activity, device or browser categories, general geography, and whether an eligible transaction was attributed to an affiliate link. Affiliate reporting ordinarily does not give us the retailer customer’s full payment details.

3. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

Operate the Site

Provide, maintain, organize, and improve the Site and its content.

Understand readership, page performance, search behavior, and content usefulness.

Communicate

Respond to questions, feedback, correction requests, and privacy requests; send requested emails and manage subscriptions where offered.

Measure Referrals

Protect and Comply

Detect spam, fraud, abuse, incidents, and technical problems; comply with law, enforce terms, and protect rights, safety, and property.

Build General Insights

Create aggregated or de-identified insights that do not reasonably identify an individual.

We may use information for another compatible purpose disclosed when it is collected or with your consent where required.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files placed on a browser or device. The Site and its service providers may use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage, scripts, and comparable technologies.

The exact cookies in use may change as Site tools change. Where required, a cookie banner or privacy control will offer choices before nonessential technologies are activated. You can also adjust browser settings to block or delete cookies, but doing so may affect Site functionality.

Our separate cookie policy may provide more detailed, tool-specific information.

5. Analytics, Advertising, and Affiliate Tracking

We may use website analytics services to understand how visitors find and use the Site. These providers may process online identifiers and usage information on our behalf or under their own privacy terms. We may also use advertising or audience-measurement technology if it is enabled on the Site.

Gym Gear Pilot participates in affiliate programs, including Amazon Associates. When you select an affiliate link, a retailer or affiliate network may place or read cookies, receive a referral identifier, and connect a later purchase to Gym Gear Pilot for commission attribution.

The price you pay is generally not increased because of our commission. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Learn more about affiliate tracking and compensated links in our Affiliate Disclosure.

We do not sell personal information for money. Depending on the technology used and the law that applies, certain advertising, analytics, or affiliate disclosures may be treated as a “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising. Where required, we will provide a way to opt out and will process qualifying browser-based opt-out preference signals.

6. When We May Disclose Information

We may disclose information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers and contractors. To vendors that help host, secure, analyze, maintain, communicate, or otherwise operate the Site, subject to appropriate terms.
  • Affiliate, analytics, and advertising partners. To measure referrals, traffic, campaigns, or advertising, depending on the features enabled and your privacy choices.
  • Legal and safety reasons. If reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process; investigate unlawful activity; enforce agreements; or protect rights, safety, and property.
  • Business changes. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to applicable legal requirements.
  • With your direction or consent. When you ask us to disclose information or otherwise authorize the disclosure.
  • Aggregated or de-identified information. When the information does not reasonably identify you, subject to applicable law.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide Site features, respond to communications, maintain security, keep appropriate business and editorial records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations.

Retention periods may vary by data type and system. We consider the amount and sensitivity of the information, the purpose of processing, the risk of harm, and applicable legal requirements. We may retain aggregated or de-identified information where permitted by law.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information in our control. No website, transmission, or storage system is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for using appropriate caution when sending information online.

9. Your Privacy Choices

  • Cookies. Use available cookie controls or your browser settings to reject or delete cookies. Browser settings apply to that browser and device.
  • Email. Use the unsubscribe link in a marketing email or contact us. We may still send nonmarketing replies or notices related to your request.
  • Affiliate links. You may avoid affiliate tracking by not selecting affiliate links, by adjusting browser controls, or by using available consent and opt-out tools.
  • Third-party controls. Analytics, advertising, browser, and device providers may offer their own privacy settings and opt-out mechanisms.

10. U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and whether the relevant law applies to Gym Gear Pilot, you may have data privacy rights concerning your personal information. These may include the right to:

  • Confirm whether we process your personal information and request access to it.
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Request deletion of certain personal information.
  • Obtain a portable copy of certain information.
  • Opt out of sale or sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling.
  • Limit certain uses and disclosures of sensitive personal information.
  • Appeal a decision on a privacy request and receive equal service without unlawful discrimination for exercising a right.

To make a request, use the contact method in Section 17 and clearly state the right you wish to exercise. We may need to verify your identity and residency. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted, but we may request proof of authorization and direct verification from you. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. Some information may be exempt, and we may deny or limit a request where the law allows.

11. California Privacy Notice

This section supplements the rest of the policy for California residents. It applies only to the extent Gym Gear Pilot is subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (CCPA). The categories below reflect information we may have collected during the preceding 12 months, depending on the Site features used.

Sources may include you, your browser or device, service providers, affiliate partners, and Site interactions. Recipients may include service providers, contractors, analytics providers, affiliate networks and retailers, advertising partners where used, professional advisers, authorities, and parties to a business transaction.

We do not knowingly use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that trigger a right to limit, unless stated otherwise in an updated notice.

Gym Gear Pilot does not sell personal information for money. If advertising, analytics, or affiliate technology is considered selling or sharing under the CCPA, California residents may opt out through Site privacy controls or the contact method below. Covered businesses must also recognize qualifying opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

12. Browser Privacy Signals and Do Not Track

Where applicable law requires it, we process qualifying browser-based opt-out preference signals as a request to opt out of sale or sharing for the browser or device that sends the signal. Because there is not a uniform industry standard for responding to traditional “Do Not Track” signals, the Site may not respond to those signals unless required by law. Cookie settings, privacy controls, and recognized opt-out preference signals remain available as described above.

13. Children’s Privacy

Gym Gear Pilot is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from a child under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information through the Site, contact us so we can review the matter and take appropriate action.

14. International Visitors

Gym Gear Pilot is directed primarily to users in the United States. If you access the Site from another country, information may be processed in the United States or other locations where service providers operate. Those locations may have data-protection laws different from the laws where you live. Where required, we will rely on an appropriate legal basis and safeguards for cross-border processing.

15. Third-Party Links and Embedded Content

The Site may link to or embed content from retailers, manufacturers, video platforms, social networks, and other websites. Interacting with third-party content may allow that third party to collect information. Gym Gear Pilot does not control and is not responsible for third-party privacy, security, cookies, content, or business practices. Review the third party’s privacy notice before interacting or making a purchase.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the Site, our practices, technology, or legal requirements. We will post the revised policy on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If required by law, we will provide additional notice or request consent. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

17. Contact Us

For privacy questions or requests, contact Gym Gear Pilot through the Contact page. In your message, write “Privacy Request” in the subject line and describe your request, the state where you reside, and the email address associated with your communication. Do not send a government identification document unless we specifically request a secure verification method.
